Nervous about the level of organic search traffic to your site?  Is it growing or is it declining?  Are your content marketing strategies working?!
You can answer this by setting up a custom alert in Google Analytics that lets you know when there is a dramatic change in traffic from any source including organic search.  In Google Analytics under admin (the cog) / custom alerts create a new alert where the ‘Medium’ matches exactly the value ‘Organic’ and sessions decreases by say more than 15% compared to the same day in the previous week.  If you compare to previous day it might just be a decline in search because its a weekend which isn’t really news.
Getting from page 2 or 3 to page 1 is usually consider easier than getting from position #10 on page 1 to position 1,2 or 3 on page 1.   You can find the search terms you rank on page 2 and 3 for (or positions #11 to #30) by using the Search Console / Queries report and using an ‘Advanced’ filter based upon the ‘Average position’ metric greater than 10.  Google doesn’t share all keyword info (in the name of user privacy) but the keyword info that is left does offer some insight and the report is usually helpful in finding out what content could be improved to get from page 2 to page 1 or from page 3 to page 1.
